Faith-based Montessori in Atlanta

An alternative to traditional education

The Zion School is a Montessori school for children ages 2 ½ to 6 years old.

What is Montessori?

Children learn by doing

Montessori is a way of teaching built around how young children actually learn: by doing. In our classroom, children work with real materials, at their own pace, with a guide who shows them what to do next and then steps back. Mixed ages mean the younger ones learn from the older ones, and the older ones learn by leading.

What your child learns

Areas of the classroom, each with real materials children can hold.

Practical Life

Practical Life

Pouring, sweeping, buttoning, preparing snack. These everyday tasks build focus, coordination, and the quiet confidence of "I can do it myself."

Sensorial

Sensorial

Materials that isolate one quality at a time, like size, color, weight, or sound, so children learn to notice, compare, and put the world in order.

Language

Language

Sounds before letters, letters before words, writing before reading. Children move from spoken vocabulary to sandpaper letters to composing their own words.

Math

Math

Numbers as things you can hold. Beads, rods, and cards make quantity concrete first, so symbols and operations make sense later.

Culture

Culture

Geography, science, art, and music. Puzzle maps, the globe, plants and animals, and the songs and stories of many places give children a picture of the whole world.

Faith

Faith

Every day begins with devotional time. Children learn Bible stories, prayer, and worship songs, and they practice kindness, gratitude, and care for one another as beloved children of God.

Our mission

At The Zion School, we redefine traditional education to better prepare children aged 2 ½ to 6 years old for the future. We offer high-quality Montessori education free from standardized tests and rigid curriculums. Our certified Montessori guides are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children, combining faith-based values with Montessori teaching methods. We partner with parents to ensure that every child feels valued, discovers their talents, and grows in the Word of God.
